Haiti, 1955
Born in Port-au-Prince with Nemours Jean-Baptiste’s “compas direct”, konpa is danced as a couple, close together, on a steady sway of the hips. The steps are simple: in ten minutes, you are on the beat.

Dominican Republic, 1960s
Born in the working-class neighbourhoods of Santo Domingo, bachata has become one of the most danced Latin styles in the world. Four beats, a small side step, a soft connection between partners.

Tickets are non-refundable, but your spot can be transferred to a friend: write to us at hello@getdatecards.com with their first and last name and your ticket number (written under the QR code). If we cancel or postpone the night, you get a full refund.
